Shorter main game puzzles: S33 did that for a good chunk of games and that (doubled with the prize wedge not always being described) allowed for way more 5 and 6 round games. It may look weird to have the yellow flipper not preset on TD at the start of a round, but it does allow for more hits of that wedge given that each player isn’t required to make a full rotation to hit $5K. It’s also really unfair that Blue has to give a full rotation PLUS three wedges over to have a chance of spinning $5K in the Final Spin.

Set yellow flipper to LaT at the start of R4: $5K hardly gets any presence on the show anymore thanks to R4 almost always starting off with the Final Spin (and also the Triple Toss-Up). Spins are getting weaker and contestants are getting dumber, so this change shouldn’t cost much dough. This leaves the pink $500 space empty, and it could be filled with another special edge (even if that special wedge is only for just one week). Doing that removes the penalty space count from 11 to just 8 at the start of the game (and it increases by 1 once the MDW is picked up). Move the MDW to the BANKRUPT near $650: I’ve encountered a rather interesting discussion about BANKRUPT placements on the BaV recap of the Novemepisode where one person said to have the Oreo wedge cover up one of the 2 BANKRUPTs on the S14 Wheel template early on. Then again, the reason why the wheel was tightened in the 90s was to make spins short and sweet, so oiling the wheel even more could mean way more editing to fit the show’s half-hour timeslot. Loosening up the Wheel could open up a strategy of how hard you want to spin the wheel instead of spinning the hardest you could because it’s too heavy to control. This was kind of glaring on the grandparent episode this season where there were BANKRUPTs galore. Loosen up the Wheel itself: Granted, the wheel was loosened for Celebrity Wheel and stayed that way afterwards, but the average spin still is less than a full rotation (meaning that a penalty spin is really predictable) given the show’s women to men ratio since S18. I’m also tagging Maggie Sajak if in case she wants to take note. Here’s some of my personal suggestions on how the show could improve so that it feels true to the name of the game (I’ll say that a certain mode from Wii Party feels more “Wheel of Fortune” than this show now). Almost every episode of the show nowadays is a slog and painfully predictable. As an avid fan of America’s most popular game show, I can’t help but feel that the show’s in the middle of an awkward phase, no thanks to the unceremonious firing of Mike Richards.
